Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy

Offered at Indy Counseling

If you are looking for profound symptom relief and expanded neuroplasticity,
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy might be your solution!

What is Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)?

Ketamine dosing and guided protocol combined with integration therapy

Ketamine is a powerful dissociative anesthetic used to reduce symptoms of Depression, Anxiety, OCD, SUD and PTSD.

It boosts therapeutic bonds in your neural networks, dismantles and reorganizes ego defense mechanisms, and increases feelings of self-worth.

Ketamine is used for treatment resistant symptoms because it is generally fast-acting and has low side-effects.  After years  of feeling down and discouraged with other treatments, Ketamine gives a different way to jump-start your brain.  Working on glutamate receptors (unlike common psychiatric medications that focus on serotonin, norepinephrine, epinephrine), Ketamine can be effective as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunctions with other medications.

While experiencing ketamine, you will notice a softer and kinder self- perspective and the ability to face internal debates and past events with strength and compassion.

Integrating your discoveries from your journey and expanding on a more positive view of yourself is critical to healing and making changes.  Using a therapist with Ketamine or Psychedelic training or supervision can increase your success!

Indy Counseling Professionals
has partnered with
Journey Clinical to offer
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy

To get started with Journey Clinical, we will create a profile for you after your initial consultation and send you a virtual invite. Once you've accepted the invite and fill in any applicable information, Journey Clinical will reach out to you to set up your initial consultation.

For more information on Journey Clinical, please visit their website.

Journey Clinical is a web-based psychiatric prescribing service that provides Ketamine lozenges for Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). Journey Clinical hosts sessions virtually for all consultations, then sends the lozenges directly to you for use either at our office or during a virtual session from home.

We like to start by meeting you. We offer a free consultation with our KAP provider to make sure KAP is a good fit for you. If you would like to have Ketamine administered by a local Spravato clinic rather than using Journey clinical, we can still provide KAP services.

Journey Clinical Setup:

We recommend working with Journey Clinical directly if you have questions about their ketamine dosages, consultations, and pricing. Journey Clinical offers a free consultation if you have questions, and has answers to common questions on their website.

During your first session at our office, your therapist will help establish your account through Journey Clinical. They will have some clinical questions and will help you decide what dosage you’d like to work with.

Once you’re set up in Journey Clinical, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with them to receive your medication. Journey Clinical will send a link for payment. This MUST be paid at least 72 hours before your appointment. Journey Clinical may reschedule your appointment if they do not receive your payment.

Once you hold the appointment, they will mail 2 doses of ketamine - you must sign for this mail!

Journey Clinical will follow the same process for their second session, where you’ll receive more doses of ketamine by mail.

Journey Clinical Costs:

If you are using Journey Clinical to acquire doses of ketamine, please see their below costs. They cannot accept insurance at this time.

How are sessions structured?

First Steps

Acquire ketamine dosages through a Spravato provider, Journey Clinical, or IV Ketamine clinic. If you're using Spavato or IV-Ketamine, you'll need to work with other office for onboarding first.

Initial intake session (60 minutes) with therapist (No Ketamine used)

Attend 2nd pre-ketamine session

(55 minutes) if 2nd set and setting

session is required

Ketamine Sessions

Take Ketamine at home (self-guided with chaperone) session

(1.5-2 hours)- or Schedule in-office ketamine session (2 hours)

Attend post ketamine integration session (55 minutes) within 24 - 72 hours of the Ketamine session.

If doing 2 ketamine medication session per week- 1 integration session 24-72 hours after the 2nd session is an option

Treatment Protocol

Generally, clients are prescribed 6 - 8 ketamine doses (with boosters) through Journey Clinical and follow-up maintenance sessions dosing 1x/month for 3-6 months.

Many clients will complete another 6-8 dosing sessions and then do maintenance after that.

If you have gone through Ketamine treatment  in another form (IV, IM or Spravato), Journey Clinical might offer maintenance dosing to extend your results.
